Martell VSOP Red Barrel

Description

This is a blend of Cognacs from several crus in the delimited region of Cognac. The blend was aged in "roux" barrels, i.e. several decades old. These casks are fine-grained to obtain the best vanilla tannins after several millimeters of high-fire toasting performed at the cooperage. La robe is copper-colored with bright gold highlights. On the nose and palate, a lovely attack of candied fruits such as mirabelle plum, Reine Claude, Carpentras pink apricot, fig, cinnamon, Virginia blond tobacco with a long, velvety, very round finish on vanilla mocha and chocolate. Would be great as an aperitif on the rocks or as a long drink with Perrier and a slice of lemon or with citrus Schweppes. Would also be suitable as an indispensable component in cocktails.
