Description

This Cognac Millésimé comes from a family of notaries settled in Cognac for several generations. This Petite Champagne 1969 was part of the estate of the father, who had bequeathed his stocks to his wife and son, a notary like himself. The father had bought this lot in April 1970, thinking to resell it at a better price a few years later, as was practiced at the time by a few well-informed individuals. Unfortunately, the oil crisis coupled with the end of the Vietnam War meant that prices for Cognac collapsed shortly afterwards. When he died, his wife and son no longer got on, and the estate bogged down for several decades until we proposed a solution. Amber lobe. A complex, rather classic Cognac. A late-summer nose with notes of very ripe fruit, pears and prunes. Smoky touches, burnt notes and a hint of Christmas Pudding (candied grapes, orange peel, nutmeg). On the palate, power and freshness (lime blossom, hawthorn), allowing you to approach all its complexity with serenity. A superb Cognac, for lovers of fine classics au naturel.
