Barbour International Jacket in Black. A quintessential style from Barbour's waxed jacket lineup, the International jacket showcases some of the best in heritage British design. Originally known as the Barbour A7 Jacket and famed for its biker style looks, the timeless piece was originally made in 1936 by motorcycle enthusiast Duncan Barbour as a one piece wax cotton suit for riders of the Six Day Trials. Quickly becoming the jacket of choice for motorcycle enthusiasts from the 50s until the 70s thanks to its sturdy construction, effortless styling and smart / casual blend. Arriving this time in a slimer cut than that of the original, this modern iteration of the International jacket is made for more lifestyle orientated roles without sacrificing on any of its native charm. Made from a Sylkoil waxed cotton for not only weather resistant properties, but that signature rustic feel, the biker jacket comes lined with the South Shields based brand's unmistakable tartan print. When it comes to features there are also plenty to talk about. Equipped with a funnel neck with a buckle fastening throat strap and corduroy backing to prevent abrasion on the skin. Further enhanced with a press stud secured storm flap to keep gusts at bay, a waist belt can be tightened to further refine its tailored proportions whilst a practical two-way zip brings dynamic wearing capabilities. Detailed with two-tone branded metal hardware throughout, the jacket also takes personal storage in its stride brandishing up to four bellow pockets to the front. With two sitting to the hip and further two can be found to the chest, one of which is an angled ‘map pocket’ which was designed to give easy access when riding. Finished with an internal drop pocket for items which require an extra air of security, the jacket stays true to its functional roots. Focusing in on visuals, when it comes to branding the jacket, takes on Barbour Internationals famous black and yellow colour palette, offering subtle accents to the eyelets and a standout badge to the right chest flap. Finished with a more subtle tab to the opposite side, this interpretation of the International comes presented in an easily paired black makeup that is sure to only improve with age.
